This summer, Islington Square is serving up the ultimate championship experience as it announces its free open-air Wimbledon screening. Launching on Monday 29th June, the stylish N1 boulevard will be completely transformed into a sun-soaked summer hub, allowing tennis fans to catch every match live from the comfort of deck chairs and vintage furniture seating. To elevate the match-day atmosphere, Islington Square has partnered with Urban Food Fest to host exclusive Wimbledon Weekend Markets across two peak tournament weekends: 4–5 July and 11–12 July between 11am – 5pm. No tickets required and completely free entry to watch the screen.
The grand Edwardian-Baroque boulevard will be fully dressed in quintessential British summer style – complete with Wimbledon-themed bunting, flags and vibrant decorative floral displays. Visitors can browse a rotating lineup of artisan market stalls and street food trucks serving up a selection of gourmet British-inspired dishes.
Quenching the summer thirst, the Urban Food Fest pop-up bar will be serving a premium menu of curated cocktails, mocktails, ice-cold craft beers, ciders and soft drinks. To celebrate the tournament, the bar will be giving away 250 complimentary drinks each day (4–5 July & 11–12 July) on a first-come, first-served basis.
Islington Square is firmly establishing itself as N1’s most welcoming family destination with a dedicated Kids Zone running throughout the market weekends. Perfectly equipped with play mats, children’s tables and chairs, rocking horses, building blocks, hula hoops and toys, it offers a safe space for little ones to play. Young tennis fans can also unleash their creativity with free themed arts and crafts workshops, featuring Wimbledon colouring sheets and a dedicated tennis ball decorating station complete with all crafting materials. For those looking for a bit of friendly competition, table tennis will also be free for all market visitors to enjoy.
The current weekend vendor lineup features a vibrant mix of food, fashion, crafts and wellness:
Gourmet Street Food: Canatelz (Burgers & Wings) and Wings and Waffles
Artisan Crafts & Fashion: Infinity Studio (Jewellery), Tracey O’Neill (Jewellery), Inkas Crafts and Wonder Wools (Handmade & Knitted items)
Lifestyle & Speciality: Labriz (Dried Fruit & Nuts) and Purepet Food
Whether popping in to watch a crucial set during a lunch break or settling in for a full weekend of world-class tennis, artisan shopping, and alfresco dining, Islington Square offers the ultimate alternative to the West End this summer.
