ITHURTZ releases electro-techno thumper ‘Toys’, with a version for boys and a version for girls

Yet how we play these days has altered out of all recognition in the 21st century. In this era of digital trickery and AI clever-dickery, have we forgotten how to play with simple ‘Toys’?

After recent releases on Sunflower Records such as electro-funker ‘Fashion Talk’ and a schizophrenic ‘Back On Da Medz’, and remixes of Jack Said What tunes by Serge Santiago, Steve Mac and Jon Carter, Rob Davy’s ITHURTZ project has its first full JSW release out this month.

Techno thumper ‘Toys’ is framed around toys. A robot voice intones a mantra about playing with the big boys/girls, and asks whether you can handle it, before the track goes off into acid abstraction. In this era of necessary diversity and inclusion, ITHURTZ has produced two versions —a Girl’s Version and a Boy’s Version. (The acapellas are also included, if you want to get clever in the mix.)

Obviously, one is for girls who want boys who like boys to be girls, who do boys like they’re girls, who do girls like they’re boys (or something). And the other is the opposite. Check them both out below.
