Julie’s Launches Limited-Edition Rhubarb Cocktail with Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley’s Brother’s Bond

Julie’s, the Holland Park jewel, has created a limited-edition cocktail, Rhubarb No. 6, in collaboration with Brother’s Bond’s Straight Bourbon Whiskey. The Vampire Diaries double-act, Ian Somerhalder and Paul, are behind the brand.

Rhubarb No. 6 is designed to shift expectations of a traditional bourbon serve, offering something aromatic, bright and elegant. Light yet layered, the cocktail places flavour and balance at its core. A homemade organic rhubarb cordial, crafted by Julie’s team with seasonal rhubarb, sugar, salt, blood orange and raspberry vinegar, delivers a vibrant interplay of sweetness and tang.

At the heart of the serve is Brother’s Bond’s award-winning, small-batch four-grain bourbon, crafted from regenerative grains grown just miles from the distillery. Aged for a minimum of four years in North Carolina’s climate-optimised warehouses and distilled on Vendome copper stills, the whiskey is blended from wheated and high-rye mash bills for layered complexity. Expect notes of honeyed cornbread, warm vanilla and toasted oak, with a mellow, lingering finish, a bourbon made with intention and rooted in nature, bringing depth and structure to the drink.

The Rhubarb No. 6 is further elevated with pear purée, Pedro Ximénez sherry, lemon juice and drops of orange bitters, resulting in a serve that is both refreshing and nuanced.

Julie’s, under the direction of new owner Tara MacBain, pairs this creativity with a vibrant, maximalist aesthetic by Rosanna Bossom. The restaurant showcases an all-day menu of French brasserie classics with a contemporary twist, alongside a striking ground-floor bar adorned with shells set against contrasting timber panelling.
