Founded by Parisian restaurateur and WSET-certified wine expert Carole Bryon, Lady of the Grapes first opened in Covent Garden in 2018 with a strong focus on organic and natural wines and championing female producers. The wine bar and restaurant has since built a loyal following, serving ingredient-led, French bistro style cooking alongside an extensive list of wines by the glass.
In the new London Bridge location, head chef, Matyáš Plzák (formerly of Frog by Adam Handling, Frenchie and Mãos) will continue to cook modern French bistro fare paired with a 400+ wine list and the same commitment to natural, organic wines and female-led producers.
“We are so excited about this new chapter for Lady of the Grapes! We’re looking forward to launching a bigger space to welcome more people, bring joy through good honest French cooking and, most importantly, continue to support the talented women making delicious wine all over the world.”

The two-story venue sits within a Grade-II listed Victorian building, dating back to the 1870s. With windows along two walls, Lady of the Grapes SE1 features a bright, 60-seat ground floor restaurant and a 20-seat terrace. The moody, speakeasy-style wine bar, Forbidden Fruit sits in the basement; an intimate 45-seat space serving a charcuterie menu alongside the broad Lady of the Grapes wines list and multiple wines by the glass.
