Legendary UK rapper Dizzee Rascal added to Facing Festival line-up

Legendary UK rapper Dizzee Rascal is the latest name added to London’s critically acclaimed open-air concert series South Facing Festival. The ‘Boy in da Corner’ star will perform on 3 August, alongside an all-star support line-up, still to be announced.

Dizzee Rascal returns with the electrifying new album ‘Don’t Take It Personal’, on 9th February 2024, via Big Dirtee Records Ltd, alongside the release of new single “How Did I Get So Calm” – a glowing reminder of Dizzee’s trademark sound and in-your-face energy.

Standing tall against his best work, Dizzee’s new record captures him in incendiary form as he flows effortlessly through a collection of distinctly UK genres with unrivalled ease. Centred by swaggering flows and formidable wordplay, Dizzee’s latest body of work is yet another victory lap on what is one of the defining rap music legacies.

Dizzee Rascal joins the line-up alongside previously announced British pop sensation Jess Glynne (9 August) and Jamaican icon Damian Marley (10 August).

South Facing is a multi-day, open-air festival that takes place each summer in the historically significant Crystal Palace Bowl. The iconic location has hosted massive names, including Elton John, Pink Floyd, The Beach Boys, The Pixies and Bob Marley. The affectionately nicknamed “rusty laptop” stage now boasts a blue plaque to commemorate the location of Marley’s biggest and last-ever London show in June 1980.

Debuting in 2021, South Facing was created with the ultimate goal of having reduced environmental impact. South Facing works with local partners while setting high standards in sustainability for everything from audience experience and travel to recyclable and compostable products.

The festival’s debut year included headline slots from Dizzee Rascal, Supergrass, Sleaford Mods, Max Richter and The English National Opera, and has since seen artists including London Grammar, Richard Ashcroft, Becky Hill, Bombay Bicycle Club, Jungle, Craig David, James, Rudimental and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds grace the stage.
