Lift Bexleyheath celebrates students’ dedication and resilience with excellent results

This year’s cohort were in year 8 at the start of the pandemic and subsequent lockdowns, with uncertainties and disruption as they prepped for their A Levels. The resilience and hard work shown by this group of students has been impressive, reflected both in their results and determination to do well.
In addition to the fantastic support from teachers and staff, to help prepare for this year’s examinations, the school has provided:
private 1:2:1 tuition;.
impartial careers advice to help students decide on the best options for further education that is right for the student, including weekly careers talks to motivate and inspire students;;
additional curriculum time outside of lessons to run group study sessions;
opportunities for students to attend Tutor2U conferences for subjects like Psychology and Sociology to help further develop their understanding of key topics;
a range of practice examinations to provide feedback to students to support continued improvement;
a visit to Canterbury Christ Church University to understand what university studying would be like and if this is the right pathway for them;
workshops with ASK apprenticeship to understand what apprenticeships are, what life would be like studying an apprenticeship and if this is the right pathway for them. This supported motivation for students; and
mentoring to students through Innerscope which supported the most disadvantaged students in building a better future for themselves.
Principal at Lift Bexleyheath, Rubeka Luthfa , said:
“Today is a day filled with joy, pride, and celebration. Across our school, students are opening envelopes that represent not just grades on a page, but years of hard work, determination, and personal growth.
“This year’s A Level results shine a light on what can be achieved through dedication, passion, and resilience. Our students have risen to the challenge, not only meeting the demands of advanced study, but also navigating times that required extraordinary adaptability and strength. They have shown that, even when faced with uncertainty, they can thrive and succeed.
“To our students: you should feel incredibly proud. These results are proof that your effort, focus, and belief in yourselves have paid off. They represent your talents, your determination, and the exciting futures ahead of you. Whether you are heading to university, starting an apprenticeship, or stepping into the workplace, you have shown the world what you are capable of and this is only the beginning.
“We know that success is rarely achieved alone. Behind every achievement are parents, carers, and families who have encouraged, supported, and inspired you along the way. To them, we say a heartfelt thank you, your belief has been a steady foundation for our students’ success.
“We also thank our dedicated staff, who have gone above and beyond to guide, inspire, and nurture our young people. Today’s celebrations belong to you too.
“We proved that with hard work, resilience, and a positive spirit, you can achieve extraordinary things. Our students are ready to take on the world and we cannot wait to see all that you will accomplish.”
