LOCAL CARE HOME HOST DEMENTIA AWARENESS SESSION

Peony Court care home, in 58 Addiscombe Road, Croydon, CR0 5PH, is hosting a special dementia awareness session for residents, families, and members of the local community.

The session will be delivered by Clare Phillips from the Bromley Dementia Friends community, who will share practical guidance on understanding dementia and supporting those living with the condition.

Taking place on Friday, 8th of May at 3pm, guests will have a chance to learn a little bit more about what it’s like to live with dementia and then turns that understanding into action. Free and open to anyone of any age, Clare Phillips will teach the group about the small ways we all can help those living with dementia.

On the day, guests will also have a chance to meet the team at the home, to discuss any questions they might have about care.

General Manager Charles James said: “Raising awareness is vital, and we’re really looking forward to making more Dementia Friend’s in our local community. The condition itself can be quite lonely and frightening, and the more understanding we have the better. Our team here at Peony Court are always available to provide support and advice about care to anyone who needs it. If anyone is unable to make it on the day but would like to pop in for a tour and a cup of tea, our doors are always open.”

Peony Court care home is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers, which is committed to delivering high-quality care across its care homes and hospitals. Peony Court provides residential care for 40 beds residents from respite care to long term stays.
