With Halloween just around the corner, London Breeze Film Festival is getting into the spirit with an evening of dark comedy, horror and very unusual cinema at Riverside Studios on Friday 23 October.
From 5pm, audiences can settle in for three one-night-only screening events, bringing together eight morbidly funny short films, a Manchester-set music murder mystery and a dark comedy horror featuring a talking penis and a terrifying giant baby.
And, appropriately for a night designed to keep audiences entertained between screams, all three screenings are available as a 3-for-2 ticket offer.
5pm — In the Gallows: eight darkly comic shorts
The evening begins at 5pm with In the Gallows, a collection of eight dark comedy shorts exploring the human — and not-so-human — condition.
Morbid, funny and occasionally unsettling, the shorts use humour as a way of illuminating and coping with some of the darker aspects of life.
7.20pm — Synthesized: murder, music and OMD
Next up at 7.20pm is Synthesized, a Manchester-set dark comedy thriller directed by Chris Green, in which synthesized music becomes a driving force in both the murderous plot and the film’s narrative.
The original score comes from OMD’s Andy McCluskey, while electronic music creator Sam Battle, aka Look Mum No Computer, also features.
The film stars Thomas Turgoose, best known for his role in This Is England, alongside a host of familiar faces.
A Q&A with members of the creative team will follow the screening.
9.40pm — Man Baby: things get very strange
The evening concludes at 9.40pm with Man Baby, the debut feature from Philip Hardy.
The dark comedy horror follows a soon-to-be father, played by Detectorists star Divian Ladwa, who is forced to complete five increasingly bizarre tasks in order to be reunited with his errant manhood.
There is a talking penis. There is a terrifying giant baby. And there will be a prop display from the creative team for audiences to inspect — if they dare.
The filmmakers will also be at the screening to introduce the film.
With two 20-minute breaks between screenings, audiences can make a full night of it at Riverside Studios — and book all three film events for the price of two.
London Breeze Film Festival runs from 21–25 October 2026, bringing independent and international cinema, filmmaker Q&As, industry events and special screenings to venues across the capital.
