Disabled people living at Leonard Cheshire homes received a bonus sackful of personally requested Christmas presents, following a generous gesture from a London-based investment firm.
Over 100 people living at six Leonard Cheshire homes received the presents. Staff at James Hambro contacted the disability charity, asking their local tenants and residents to send a list of gifts.
Tenants at the charity’s Essex Community Support and Enabling Service received a host of presents. Gifts included a Luke Littler Darts set, PlayStation games and iPad accessories.
Joanna Philp is a Team Leader at Essex Community Support and Enabling Service. She said: “The tenants are absolutely delighted – there are lots and lots of presents here! Thank you so much to everyone involved in making this happen for our tenants – what a lovely thing to do!”
The service supports up to 23 disabled adults at two sites, Heathcroft and Moss Road. Everyone receives personalised support and independent living skills.
The James Hambro staff also sent gifts to people at residential homes including Seven Springs in Colchester, which supports 19 disabled adults. Gifts were also sent people at Athol House in Crystal Palace, as well as St Cecilia’s and Springfield in Bromley.
Nicola Barber, Head of Charities at James Hambro, said: “This has been an absolute pleasure. We are delighted to make a small difference to Leonard Cheshire’s residents and tenants this Christmas.”
