London’s Coworking Hotspots and Notspots Revealed

The popularity of shared office space has sky-rocketed in recent years, with a new coworking space opening in London every five days.

Coworking offices are known to encourage people to be more creative and offer various collaboration opportunities. Not to mention they offer greater flexibility for entrepreneurs and it’s a cost-effective solution too compared to renting out a whole office. Entrepreneurs and their businesses will need a coworking space membership to allow them into spaces but that’s far more affordable than a heft rent bill each month.

Though plants, slides, and ping-pong tables have their place, an overwhelming majority, (84%) of businesses, site location as the single most important factor when deciding on office space.

Top findings from the study include:

  • King’s Cross: Top Boss – King’s Cross reigns supreme as the best area in London for coworking
  • Central Still Beats East – Despite the rise of trendy East London workspaces, Central London locations like Kensington (2nd) and South Bank (3rd) dominate the top ten
  • Cash Light? Camden’s Your Site – Camden’s offering coworking desks for free whereas desks in Notting Hill and Victoria will set you back more than £390 / month
  • Go South West for Speedy Internet Access – Snobbishly, the fastest internet speeds (59.9 mbps) are centred around the wealthy southwestern suburbs of Fulham, Chelsea and Battersea
