Dog owners across London are invited to enter their four-legged companions as registrations officially open for the 2026 Chiswick House Dog Show, returning to the beautiful grounds of Chiswick House & Gardens on Sunday 20 September 2026.
Now in its 22nd year, the much-loved event has become one of London’s biggest and most popular community dog shows, attracting thousands of visitors for a day celebrating dogs of every shape, size and personality while raising vital funds for Chiswick House & Gardens Trust.
Every dog has a chance to shine across 17 fun competition classes. Entrants can compete for titles including Waggiest Tail, Best Rescue, Best Groomed, Golden Oldie, Naughtiest Dog, My Dog’s Got Talent, Dog Most Like Its Owner, and Best Young Handler, with class winners competing for the coveted Best in Show title.
This year’s Fancy Dress competition takes inspiration from the hit television series The Traitors, promising plenty of imaginative costumes from both dogs and their owners.
Alongside the competitions, visitors can enjoy a packed programme of entertainment including the ever-popular Doggy Dash, shopping stalls, food and drink, expert exhibitors and activities for the whole family. Entry to the event is free for spectators.
Xanthe Arvanitakis, Director of Chiswick House & Gardens Trust said:
“Every year we’re amazed by the incredible enthusiasm and support from our dog lovers in our local community and from across London. The Chiswick House Dog Show is about celebrating the special bond between people and their dogs while raising funds to help protect these Gardens, keeping them open and welcoming for everyone, every day. We’re grateful to the incredible committee of volunteers who make this event possible each year. This year, the Show coincides with the official launch of our brand-new community Learning Hub & Yard – spaces that will welcome thousands more community groups, school children and visitors to find connection and wellbeing in these beautiful spaces. We can’t wait to welcome everyone to celebrate on this fantastic day.”
Jane Dormer, member of the Chiswick House Dog Show committee said:
“The Chiswick House Dog Show is a wonderful example of what our community can achieve when people come together. Every year, an incredible team of volunteers gives their time, energy and enthusiasm to make the event possible, creating a fantastic day out for thousands of visitors. Whether you’re entering your dog, cheering from the sidelines or simply enjoying the atmosphere, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. The show is about much more than dogs – it’s about celebrating a local community, supporting Chiswick House & Gardens and bringing people together in one of London’s most beautiful historic parks.”
All proceeds from the show help support the work of Chiswick House & Gardens Trust, contributing to the care, conservation and enjoyment of one of London’s most treasured historic landscapes.
Competition entries are £6 per dog, per class, with advance booking strongly recommended as many classes sell out before the day. Limited entries may be available on the day, subject to capacity.
Whether your dog is a seasoned show champion, a talented performer, a rescue hero or simply the best companion anyone could ask for, organisers encourage owners to register early and join one of West London’s most anticipated annual events.
Registration is now open, with full details of classes, event timings and visitor information available at www.chiswickhousedogshow.co.uk.
