London’s new literary-inspired boutique hotel

A newly refurbished boutique hotel is coming to London’s Kensington neighbourhood this January.

The Kensington Hideaway, formerly the Seraphine Kensington, has been transformed following a multi-million-pound investment, blending modern luxury with a literary-inspired design. The redesign blends contemporary elegance with a narrative-driven concept that pays homage to the Royal Borough’s rich literary heritage. Distinct room categories draw inspiration from the lives and works of celebrated authors, including William Makepeace Thackeray, Agatha Christie, T.S. Eliot and P.L. Travers.

The 59-room hotel is a stone’s throw from Kensington High Street, ideally placed for guests to explore nearby attractions such as Kensington Palace, the Natural History Museum and Hyde Park.

The hotel’s 35-cover restaurant and bar will offer a fresh, seasonal menu of small plates and craft cocktails, making it a new destination for both hotel guests and locals alike.

Rohit Bisht, general manager, said: “We’ve created a space where comfort, creativity and personal service come together. Whether you’re staying for business or pleasure, we want every guest to feel like they’ve discovered something special, a hidden gem in the heart of Kensington.”

The Kensington Hideaway promises to redefine the boutique hotel experience, offering an elegant yet relaxed atmosphere, tailored for both international visitors and Londoners seeking a stylish retreat.

Opening with a soft launch in mid-January 2026, the hotel will soon welcome its first guests, with a full launch planned for a later date.
