MASAJ is opening its first-ever pop-up in Shoreditch this October, bringing its expert Bodywork into an immersive new setting for eight weeks only. While its Charlotte Road studio undergoes a revamp, the brand is moving just around the corner to Unlocked on Curtain Road with Meanwhile at MASAJ. Home to the same exceptional Bodywork and expert Bodyworkers, the pop-up presents a new expression of the MASAJ experience – a sensory retreat from the pace of London life.

Meanwhile at MASAJ unfolds across four stages – arrive, connect, transition and retreat – guiding guests through layers of candlelight, colour, scent and surround sound before reaching one of eight treatment rooms, crafted from timber and woven canvas. Every element has been thoughtfully considered, with the unnecessary stripped away to place the focus firmly on the treatment and the power of touch.

At its heart is MASAJ’s signature approach to Bodywork: no scripted treatments or one-size-fits-all routines, with every session shaped in the room around the individual and guided by the expertise, technique and intuition of their therapist. The temporary studio offers the same treatment menu as MASAJ’s existing locations, from deep tissue and sports massage to support recovery, to pregnancy massage, restorative full-body treatments and targeted sessions for areas of tension.

Taking this sense of trust a step further, In Our Hands is a new ritual created exclusively for the pop-up, inviting guests to simply share how they want to feel before handing over the rest to their Bodyworker. In the heart of Shoreditch, it offers something increasingly rare: the chance to stop, breathe and let someone else take care of the rest.
