MAYFAIR’S NEWEST SECRET BAR OPENS, HIDDEN BENEATH A NEW YORK-STYLE BAGEL SHOP

There’s a secret bar hiding beneath a bagel shop in the heart of Mayfair – from today, No.1 Princes Street opens the doors to the downstairs speakeasy.

Tucked underneath the New York-style bagel house, the newly opened speakeasy is accessed through the venue and down a staircase, transforming the space from daytime deli to late-night drinking spot as the sun goes down.

Taking its cue from New York’s legendary hidden bars, the concept puts a Mayfair spin on the city’s love of secret drinking spots. NYC’s iconic Please Don’t Tell is famously concealed behind a hot dog shop; here, the secret is hidden beneath a bagel house.

Inside, the cocktail menu continues the New York influence, with signatures including the No.1 Princes Martini, Caviar Martini, Tomatini and Vesper, alongside modern classics such as the Mezcal Negroni and Rhubarb Bellini. Guests can also choose from fine wines, Champagne and craft beers.

The bar is open Tuesday to Saturday from 3pm, with DJs from Thursday to Saturday.

No.1 Princes Street first opened in September, bringing naturally fermented, handmade New York-style bagels and specialty coffee to Mayfair by day. Now, it has a second life after dark — swapping breakfast and coffee for Martinis, DJs and cocktails downstairs.

Whether you’re heading in for a bagel upstairs or a Martini downstairs, No.1 Princes Street is bringing a little bit of New York to W1 – from breakfast to last orders.

No.1 Princes Street is located at 1 Princes Street, Mayfair, London W1B 2AY. The bar is open Tuesday to Saturday from 3pm.
