New Asian inspired smash burger joint in Victoria – introducing HANBAAGAASUUTEEKI

London’s burger scene just got a seismic shake-up. Welcome to HANBAAGAASUUTEEKI, a brand-new smash burger joint in the heart of Victoria that pairs American burger culture with the obsessive craftsmanship of Asian cuisine at an affordable price point.

Led by visionary Chef Fatih Alkan, HANBAAGAASUUTEEKI is a place where simplicity meets a world of fusion flavour. Located in the holy bermuda triangle of smash burgers with Shake Shack and Bleeker Burger just across the road, HANBAAGAASUUTEEKI is a kinetic space that’s redefining what fast-casual dining can taste and feel like.

At first glance, HANBAAGAASUUTEEKI’s menu looks simple: three burgers, three fries, one side. But nothing is simple here, behind that minimalism lies a meticulous pursuit of flavour. Every element, from the kimchi to the onions, has been through rounds of testing, tasting, and reworking. This is food built with intention.

The Isan Burger delivers a fast-track to Thailand’s northeastern kitchens with a fragrant, fiery hit of holy basil, lime-zest aromatics, and Bird’s Eye chili that punches above its size. The Kimchi Burger showcases the house’s slow-fermented kimchi, a months-in-the-making creation that brings the soul of Korean street food to the iconic American smash burger.

For purists, the Another Double Cheese Burger offers a bold, juicy nod to the American diner classic – two patties, two cheeses, and no distractions. It’s 1950s Americana, streamlined for today.

Guests can also skip the bun entirely with HANBAAGAASUUTEEKI’s Naked Burger Plates which ditch the bun entirely and double down on flavour, offering a unique and fresh way to indulge.

And while the burgers take the spotlight, the fries demand their own headline. The Kimchi Loaded Fries are unapologetically punchy, drenched in tangy house kimchi and laced with gochujang mayo, they’re sharp, spicy, and dangerously addictive. Then come the Miso Loaded Fries, a deeper, darker offering layered with Japanese fermented miso, butter, and umami-soaked intention. They’re comforting and complex, less a side dish, more a flavour bomb.

The menu has been meticulously designed by chef Fatih Alkan who has over 25 years of international kitchen experience including Italian and French training plus a culinary residency in Japan. Alkan’s guiding principle is respect for nature, ingredients, and the people who eat which has very much been poured into the HANBAAGAASUUTEEKI menu as he brings a uniquely global palette to his newest venture.

Designed by architect Tolga Tuğcu, the space reflects the same precision and rhythm as the kitchen with Americana influences coming through in the punchy red colour scheme. Built for presence and pace, the restaurant is shaped by movement, minimalism, and intent – a physical manifestation of what’s on the plate as architecture and gastronomy is blended in a unified rhythm.

HANBAAGAASUUTEEKI is the purest reflection of his philosophy yet: a burger joint where everything is overthought – not for show, but for flavour.
