From 4 July at House of Sisters Grimm in London’s West End: Immersive tasting combines fine wine, art, film and storytelling – with guidance from leading South African wine experts.
London’s newest destination, House of Sisters Grimm has announced its Summer 2026 season, bringing together wine, art, theatre and immersive storytelling in a programme that includes the launch of Sensory Notes – a unique audiovisual journey experienced through wireless headphones and the Global Landscapes retrospective exhibition,.
Sensory Notes is a new wine-led experience designed to profile the diversity, craftsmanship and stories behind South African wine. Narrated by Michael Fridjhon, one of South Africa’s most respected wine authorities, and featuring contributions from leading producers including Berene Sauls, Jane Ferreira and Albert Ahrens, Sensory Notes brings together expert wine insight with immersive film, music, storytelling and visual art.
The 20-minute experience combines premium South African wines with a unique audiovisual journey experienced through wireless headphones, offering a new approach to wine discovery by immersing guests in the landscapes, people and stories behind each wine.
Guests begin in The Gallery, surrounded by Ella Spira MBE’s large-scale landscape paintings before continuing into an intimate screening space. Through a combination of film, original artwork and music and narration, guests are transported across South Africa’s wine regions while tasting three wines selected to showcase distinct terroirs and winemaking traditions.
With capacity limited to just eight guests per session, Sensory Notes has been designed as an intimate and approachable introduction to South African wine, breaking down traditional barriers to wine appreciation and welcoming new audiences to the world of fine wine.
Following the tasting, guests are invited to continue their exploration at iGOLI, London’s first exclusively South African fine wine bar, where they can continue their journey, discover additional wines and purchase bottles to take home, including exclusive artist-label collaboration wines available only through House of Sisters Grimm.
Ella Spira MBE said, “South African wine has extraordinary stories behind it, but many people in the UK still only know a small part of what’s happening there. Sensory Notes is about creating a different way into wine – one that celebrates place, creativity and the people behind every bottle.”
The launch forms part of House of Sisters Grimm’s Summer 2026 Programme. Alongside Sensory Notes, visitors will be able to explore Global Landscapes, a retrospective exhibition of more than 65 original artworks created in locations around the world.
