New research reveals the average hangover lasts 10 hours, with Friday 16th December dubbed the peak date for nursing sore heads

This December, booze-drinking Brits are set to be extremely merry, but not so bright, with a frenzy of social plans in the diary. From catching up with friends, attending Christmas parties, not to forget a global football tournament to watch, it’s no surprise more than two thirds of workers (68%) are bracing themselves to be hungover over during the coming weeks.

Domino’s, the nation’s best-loved pizza company, polled 2,000 office workers to discover they’re set to attend a whopping 16 social shindigs on average over the festive period – with the highly-anticipated, office Christmas party falling on Thursday 15th December for most revellers this year. All this celebrating means that on average, we’ll endure four stonking hangovers this month – with each one lasting 10 hours on average – or even 24 hours for an unlucky 8% of Brits (ouch!).

But fear not, three quarters (75%) swear by a tried and tested hangover ‘cure’ the morning after that works for them. According to those polled, the top methods to aid sore heads after a few bevvies include taking a cold shower, drinking a Bloody Mary, staying in bed all day, and even going to the gym or for a swim!

As a festive treat to the nation, Domino’s is giving away a limited-edition tomato drink – aptly named Bloody Domino’s from today. Inspired by the classic hair of the dog, Bloody Domino’s is a delicious, spiced tomato drink that is perfectly balanced and packed with flavour.

Available to pre-order now*, a bottle of Bloody Domino’s combines tomato juice with pickle juice, and a generous kick thanks to a spicy blend of turmeric, cayenne pepper, fresh horseradish, and black pepper.

Whether it becomes the perfect stocking filler for the tomato-loving fan in your life, or helps provide some much-needed festive refreshment, Bloody Domino’s is available to pre-order now via www.bloodydominos.co.uk*.

Melanie Howe, Bloody Domino’s Taste Tester says, “Hangovers can be horrid so it’s no surprise we all have our way of dealing with them. Some reach for a Domino’s pizza, others a Bloody Mary. So, when we found out the nation was as tomato obsessed as us, we were inspired – and Bloody Domino’s was born.

Thursday 15th December marks the return of the big office Christmas bash, and we’re on hand to help with the recovery, after all, hangovers call for a Domino’s!”
