New series of pictures from award-winning photographer Alison Jackson “turns the vege-tables” on famous figures

With the end of Veganuary fast approaching, to inspire more people to try meat-free options, plant-based brand Birds Eye Green Cuisine has partnered with award-winning artist and photographer, Alison Jackson, to “turn the vege-tables” on the nation’s busiest and most well-known public figures.

The ‘Veganuary Reimagined’ series features images of what appears to be Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his family, the Prince and Princess of Wales, and King Charles III and The Queen Consort enjoying delicious plant-based dishes as the centrepiece of their mealtimes.

With Veganuary 2023 poised to be the most popular ever as Brits commit to the challenge every 2.4 seconds*, Birds Eye Green Cuisine is releasing this series of light-hearted scenes, created by Jackson, to help keep the momentum going.

Using cleverly styled lookalikes, Jackson has unveiled:

Number Hen: A Green Cuisine Chicken-Less Dippers Su-snack

Maths homework can be easy when you know how, but not as easy as going flexitarian like this family who have opted for a delicious meal of Green Cuisine Chicken-Less Dippers, salad, and chips – all enjoyed whilst wearing socks and sliders of course.

Meat-Free Green Cuisine Burger fit for a King

Nothing beats settling into a night in front of the telly like a juicy Green Cuisine Meat-Free Burger, to enjoy a meat-free meal fit for a king.

Victoria Westwood, UK & Ireland Marketing Lead, Green Cuisine, says: “Our campaign is a fun illustration of how reducing the amount of meat you eat doesn’t have to be so hard. You don’t need to change your lifestyle to enjoy the Green Cuisine range, our aim is to give people the opportunity to explore, experiment and try new things without compromising on taste.”

“What unites all the families in the ‘Veganuary Reimagined’ series is that they are extremely busy and it’s important for them to be able to make easy swaps to their diet. Launching as part of our wider marketing campaign, Jackson’s art shows that if the busiest families in the UK can make it happen, any family can make it happen, even if not it’s 100% of the time.”

Alison Jackson, says: “My work is all about bringing the imagined private lives of public figures to light through art. It is that peep behind the door we all want to see. With my ‘Veganuary Reimagined’ series it is easy to imagine that King Charles and Queen Camilla would want to add more plant-based options to their diets, particularly given his quest for more environmental consciousness. Or that the Prime Minister would gather for a meat-free dinner with his family to embrace Veganuary as he takes a break from running the country. Or how William and Kate would want to enjoy a moment to themselves for a plant-based brunch in bed and a break from busy schedules.”

She added: “Plant-based options have always formed a large part of my diet. My photoshoots are always full scale, costume dramas, and keep me busy 24/7, so in between I’m often looking for something easy but delicious. I know I can rely on plant-based choices for a more varied food lifestyle.”

Green Cuisine is on sale at ASDA, Morrison’s, Tesco, Sainsburys, Ocado, in store and online.
