Danish bakery and coffee house Ole & Steen is set to expand its London estate with a new bakery in St Paul’s at the beginning of November, as the established brand celebrates 35 years of baking and more than a decade in the UK. The opening follows a record year for the business, which reported a turnover of £40.2 million in 2025, up £3.5 million year on year, while like-for-like sales rose 10.3% and customer numbers grew 7.1%.

Located at 141 Cheapside, the new bakery will offer a capacity of 32 covers inside and 8 outside, becoming a new hub for City workers, residents and visitors alike to enjoy Ole & Steen’s all-day menu. The store will launch with two self-service kiosks and digital menu boards, combining Ole & Steen’s familiar bakery experience with a more streamlined format designed for the pace of the City.

Founded in Denmark in September 1991, Ole & Steen has spent 35 years developing its coffee house concept around Danish baking traditions, quality ingredients and craft. The St. Paul’s opening marks another milestone in the brand’s continued UK expansion, following the launch of its inaugural bakery in St. James in 2016.

The brand currently operates 26 bakery and coffee houses across London and the South East, which are complemented by its strong grocery partnerships with both Waitrose and Ocado, where customers across the country can access its bakery products. The business continues to grow in Denmark too, with additional stores in the pipeline.

The Ole & Steen St. Paul’s bakery will open in the first week of November 2026 at 141 Cheapside, London EC2V 6BJ.
