Organisations are supporting business travellers better since the pandemic

Business travellers are better supported by their organisations than they were before the pandemic, according to a survey of UK business travellers.
The Opinium* survey of 500 UK business travellers, commissioned by World Travel Protection, a leading global travel assistance organisation, found that travellers had seen improvements in four areas:

59% said they had seen an improvement in organisations supplying information about the destination before travelling;

56% said they had seen an improvement in their organisation communicating business travel risks;

56% had seen an improvement in their organisation providing regular support when away;

56% had seen an improvement in their organisation providing emergency support when away.

Kate Fitzpatrick, Regional Security Director, EMEA at World Travel Protection, said: “Many destinations have changed in the last few years and travellers cannot assume that just because they visited a destination countless times in the past it will be the same as they remember. The turmoil caused by Covid-19 and the subsequent economic downtime means new risk assessments need to be conducted on previously ‘safe’ destinations.

“However, it’s reassuring to see that the majority of organisations have taken this on board and are providing additional support to travelling staff, and importantly ensuring that emergency support is in place should they need it. Using a travel assistance company, like World Travel Protection, ensures access to the most up-to-date travel information on risk as well as a global support system of highly qualified medical and security professionals”.
