Pot Noodle is heading back to the cinema – just weeks after being banned from it.
After a noodle-related fallout that had film fans clutching their forks, Pot Noodle has announced a free film screening at the very venue that banned the product two weeks ago.
Genesis, the East London-based cinema, recently banned the iconic snack from its screenings, on account of some less-than-muffled slurping noises.
Pot Noodle responded with a typically cheeky statement on Instagram (here). Quickly capturing fans’ attention, causing many to weigh in on the great slurp debate. The brand commented “We thought cinemas were safe slurp spaces. Apparently not… Don’t worry Genesis, you’ll be hearing from us”.
Now, the drama is getting the big screen treatment.
On Tuesday 7th April (6:30pm), Genesis Cinema will host the first ever ‘Slurp Friendly Screening’, inviting 154 guests to enjoy a free showing of Brit-favourite Shaun of The Dead, with unlimited freedom to stir and slurp to their heart’s content. Noodle lovers in attendance will also receive free product, with other branded goodies up for grabs.
A first of its kind, the flavour-packed truce between Pot Noodle and Genesis will see a celebration of unapologetic noodle slurping in all its noisy glory.

Madeleine Boulton, Senior Brand Manager at Pot Noodle, said: “We believe that Pot Noodle should be slurped anywhere, anytime – so when we saw that our noodles were formally off the menu, we had to step in.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Genesis for a Slurp Friendly Screening that celebrates our fans and lets them enjoy their favourite flavours exactly as they should be enjoyed: a no-nonsense satisfying snack that hits the spot”.
