Revealed: The London Boroughs With The Highest Volume Of Blue Plaque Homes

London based estate agents’ Douglas & Gordon have looked at English Heritage blue plaque homes from around the capital to uncover the boroughs that have the most amount of properties with the commemorative plaque.

The capital has over 900 blue plaque locations, by looking at  English Heritage data, Douglas & Gordon were able to rank the top 11 London boroughs for blue plaque houses, please see the results below:

1) Westminster 

Coming up with the most amount of blue plaque properties is the City of Westminster, a borough based in central London. There are a massive  315 properties with blue plaques within the area with homes of significant figures, which include Neville Chamberlain, Jimi Hendrix and Karl Marx.

2) Kensington & Chelsea 

The Royal Borough is unsurprisingly second on this list with a huge 186 blue plaque properties. Key names that have been that have  for while lived within the borough as some point in their lives include Francis Bacon, Sir Alexander Fleming and Oscar Wilde.

3) Camden 

Not far behind Kensington & Chelsea is the London Borough of Camden with 174 blue plaque homes in the area. Very well known names which include Charles Darwin, Sylvia Plath and Charles Dickins have been commemorated in the borough.
