Sandbox VR’s Prehistoric Immersive Experience AGE OF DINOSAURS Roars into Locations Around the Globe on 3 April

Sandbox VR, the world’s premier destination for premium location-based virtual reality experiences, today announced Age of Dinosaurs, the new fully immersive VR experience designed with young adventurers in mind, will roar into at all Sandbox VR locations worldwide on 3 April, including London and Birmingham. Tickets are available now for pre-booking at https://sandboxvr.com/experience/ageofdinosaurs.

Within Age of Dinosaurs, guests will embark on a breathtaking expedition to the heart of a prehistoric world, where they will come face-to-face with dinosaurs to discover how they truly lived, and be inspired to act for nature today. Created in collaboration with the Natural History Museum, London and renowned palaeontologist Dr. Darren Naish, Age of Dinosaurs features one of the most realistic 3D dinosaurs ever presented in virtual reality, with every scale, tooth, muscle, and movement of this family-friendly experience grounded in science.

With Sandbox VR’s full-body tracking and haptic vests, guests will really feel the tremors of a Brachiosaurus’ footsteps and the rush of wind from pterosaurs, an experience beyond what traditional media or at-home VR can deliver. The experience joins Sandbox VR’s slate of original and licensed titles, including the recent Stranger Things: Catalyst experience created in partnership with Netflix, and Sandbox VR’s original Deadwood franchise. All Sandbox VR offerings are developed in-house by a team of veteran developers from EA, Sony, and Ubisoft to deliver immersive experiences that take guests out of everyday reality.

For the Natural History Museum, the collaboration furthers their mission to create advocates for the planet by engaging global audiences with natural history in innovative ways. Through Sandbox VR’s rapidly growing international network of locations, the Museum’s world-renowned science expertise becomes even more accessible to audiences worldwide. The Natural History Museum was the UK’s most-visited attraction in 2025, and this collaboration shines a spotlight on how cultural institutions can leverage immersive technology to also share knowledge and inspire beyond the traditional museum walls.

Maxine Lister, Head of Licensing at the Natural History Museum, London, said: “2026 is proving to be another exciting year for the Museum. Not only are we the UK’s most-visited attraction, but we are continuing to expand on our exciting slate of location-based experiences, taking the Museum’s expertise outside its walls and across the globe. Age of Dinosaurs is a thrilling adventure from the teams at Sandbox VR, the Museum and Dr Darren Naish, with entertainment and cutting-edge science colliding in an epic prehistoric journey.”

Steve Zhao, Founder and CEO of Sandbox VR, said: “With Age of Dinosaurs, we are pushing the boundaries of what location-based VR can achieve by blending cinematic spectacle with scientific discovery. Collaborating with the Natural History Museum, London allowed us to create something truly special: an experience where guests don’t just watch history but step directly inside it. With our network growing faster than ever, we’re excited to bring this level of scientific realism to more cities across the world.”

This new experience hits Sandbox VR venues worldwide amidst a period of rapid growth as the company continues to expand its content offerings to reach new audiences with a focus on more cultural immersive experiences and family entertainment. Now operating at 80+ locations worldwide, Sandbox VR continues to scale its international footprint while remaining dedicated to delivering unparalleled experiences that combine cutting-edge VR technology with authentic storytelling to transform how we play within and explore the world around us.
