Sister Sledge Featuring Kathy Sledge Announce Special London KOKO Show

Sister Sledge featuring Kathy Sledge have announced a special London show at KOKO on Friday 5 June 2026. The unmistakable voice behind some of the most recognizably celebrated songs returns to the capital for a night that promises energy, soul and pure celebration, performing one of music’s most loved catalogues to the live stage.
Kathy Sledge is a Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, producer and author whose voice defines Sister Sledge’s worldwide success. As the lead vocalist on worldwide classic hits including ‘We Are Family’ – which was added to the Library of Congress National Recording Registry in 2017 – and ‘He’s the Greatest Dancer’, she is the renowned voice creating songs that unite audiences across generations.
Throughout her career, Kathy has continued to step onto some of the world’s most significant stages. She performed ‘We Are Family’ for the inauguration of 46th U.S. President Joe Biden and previously sang for Pope Francis in a moment that marked another proud milestone in her journey.
Deeply respected within dance music circles, and often referred to as “the most sought after voice to remix”, she has also collaborated with the most celebrated dance DJ’s and producers worldwide: from London collective Horse Meat Disco to Dimitri From Paris’s unmistakable remix of ‘Thinking Of You’. She was also honoured with the Outstanding Contribution Award at the Ibiza DJ Awards, reflecting her lasting impact on club culture worldwide.
Born in Philadelphia, Kathy began performing at an early age, delivering her first international hit at just 13 years old with ‘Mama Never Told Me’. A year later, Sister Sledge appeared at the historic Zaire festival in Kinshasa during the ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ weekend. The group’s partnership with Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards led to the platinum-selling ‘We Are Family’ album and set the course for a career filled with landmark collaborations and chart success.
As she enters a new chapter, Kathy has released her latest single ‘Promise Me’, now streaming globally and set to feature in live shows throughout 2026.
She is also working alongside jazz legend Stanley Clarke and the jazz aficionado band “Somebody Tell Joe” on a forthcoming project, while executive producing a feature film based on her upcoming memoir, ‘Memoir of a Little Sister’, which shares her personal story behind the music that shaped a generation.
