Studio Pictures & SLAB Films Launches NFT Collection ‘The Slab Pass’ for New Film Based On Muhammad Ali

Studio Pictures & Sting Like A Bee Films (S.L.A.B.) in association with AC Consultancy are delighted to announce ‘The S.L.A.B. Pass’, an exclusive new Film NFT Collection, including artwork created by leading British comic artist David Parkins (The Beano) which will initially be used to fund new feature film ‘A GOD AMONGST MEN,’ which tells the true story of Muhammad Ali, the World Heavyweight Champion and his visit to the UK’s Tyneside in 1977. Designed for long term utility, the NFT will also have a longer term goal of creating a physical film and television studio in the UK, a project which holders of the S.L.A.B. Pass NFT will also be involved in.

Furthermore, major sports clothing brand FILA and suicide prevention CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably), have officially partnered on the project.

The NFT collection was officially launched at an exclusive event at the Steelyard Nightclub in central London.

As previously announced, cast attached to the film A God Amongst Men include: Nicholas Pinnock (Captain America: The First Avenger, For Life, Marcella) to play Muhammad Ali and Christopher Eccleston (Thor: The Dark World, Doctor Who, Young Woman and the Sea). Also attached are writer/director James Newton (2:Hrs); co-writer Ian Skelton (Hey Duggee, Sylvie and the Sunset); casting director Michelle Smith; Producers Adam Rolston (A Street Cat Named Bob); David Braithwaite (A Christmas Gift From Bob) and Picnik Entertainment’s Nicola Pearcey.

In a unique way to engage their audience early, Studio Pictures and S.L.A.B. Films secured private funding for the creation of the NFT Collection, and are now launching a new audience-building model before the film goes into production. S.L.A.B will also reward their community with a host of opportunities for involvement in their films. The companies are looking to disrupt the way film projects are financed and will offer a unique immersive experience which will be managed through NFTs. The companies have also engaged the services of NFT specialists AC Consultancy, headed up by Arran Brough and Charlie Godden.

In collaboration with leading British comic artist David Parkins (The Beano), A God Amongst Men will be accompanied by an associated art collection of hand-drawn cartoon characters based upon kids from the film, known as THE SKIDZ. These NFTs will have different traits and rarities, which will be associated with different rewards related to the making of A God Amongst Men.

A five year roadmap has been put in place with the ultimate goal to create a new physical Film and Television Studio in the UK, which the NFT holders will have a stake in.

S.L.A.B Films will also be using the project to support Grainger Park Boxing Club, the gym at the heart of the story told by A God Amongst Men, in order to continue Ali’s legacy into the present day.

Pre-production on AGAM will start in Spring 2023, after the NFT collection mints in February 2023.
