Housed in the historical Menier Chocolate Factory, speakeasy style wine bar, Forbidden Fruit and it’s modern French bistro, Lady of the Grapes were launched in June by Parisian DipWSET qualified Carole Bryon who already had a loyal following at her first venture in Covent Garden.

For the new site, Carole has curated an all female wine list featuring the likes of Marielle Cazaux, Chateau La Conseillante (France), Jeanne Vito, Springfontein (South Africa), Athenais Beru (France), Kristin Syltevik (UK), Elisabetta Foradori (Italy), Vanya Cullen (Australia), Jade Gros (Spain) and Michaela Reidmuller (Austria).

From 27th September, and kicking off with the talented Naomi Banks accompanied by Ali Roocroft, Forbidden Fruit will play host to regular Sunday jazz evenings evoking the dimly lit, moody underground bars of 20s Paris.

The menu at Forbidden Fruit features oozing cheese toasties and charcuterie selections of French meats and cheeses served alongside 25 wines by the glass including some rarer vintages, unusual grape varieties and many increasingly popular chilled red wines as well as wine based cocktails.

Naomi Banks will be performing at Forbidden Fruit on 27th September and 11th October, there will be two 45 minute sessions per evening, starting from 5pm. Further artists and dates to be announced soon.
