SUPERDRUG SPONSOR CROYDON PRIDEFEST AND ‘CELEBRATE THE PRIDE IN YOU’

Health and Beauty retailer, Superdrug are sponsoring Croydon Pride for the second year running.

Taking place in Wandle Park on 15th July, Croydon Pridefest will see a host of performers, such as Heather Small and Danny Beard celebrate Croydon Pride. Superdrug will be on hand to offer attendees piercing and nail services throughout the day with all proceeds being donated the LGBT+ charity Switchboard. The brand will also be hosting hourly raffles to give away a Superdrug bundle of goodies which will again raise money for the Switchboard Helpline.

Switchboard will also be at the event providing information and support around their services.

Superdrug’s Trading Director, Megan Potter, says: “We’ve got a long heritage in Croydon, with our head office and several stores located in the heart of the town centre so we are proud to be able to sponsor Croydon Pride and continue to support the LGBTQ+ community through our partnership with Switchboard Helpline, a vital charity providing an essential service. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone for a fantastic celebration of Pride.”

Superdrug has also released its Pride edition Own Brand range for the second year running with a capsule collection of six wrapped own brand products, all of which will carry the Switchboard charity logo, phone number and information. The Own Brand range will see Superdrug make a full donation of £10,000 to the charity.

It costs Switchboard around £450 to train and support each volunteer. Superdrug’s donation of £10,000 will enable Switchboard to train and support twenty-two new volunteers. Collectively, this could amount to over 1,700 calls, Instant messages and emails answered across a whole year.

Superdrug stores nationwide are taking part in local pride events with ‘rainbow coloured make-overs’ in participating stores. Manchester Arndale and The Strand Superdrug stores have also had unique ‘tap to donate’ windows installed, where shoppers can simply tap and donate £3 directly to Switchboard.
