Falconhurst – the garden, farm shop and supper club venue in Kent – has announced its line-up of supper clubs and food pop ups taking place this summer in The Barn.
Situated just 50 minutes on the train from London, Falconhurst sits in the rolling hills of the High Weald in Kent. Still a working organic dairy farm, the family-owned estate now runs a series of exciting supper clubs and casual food pops in The Barn, adjacent to the Farm Shop that sells produce from the farm, gardens and beyond.
Supper Clubs
This summer, The Barn at Falconhurst is hosting four brilliant chefs across five weekends, including welcoming top London chef Avi Shashidhara for the first time to cook up an Indian storm.
Each supper club will comprise a multi-course feast with a cocktail on arrival, which can be enjoyed walking around the pond and soaking up the afternoon and early evening rays.
Friday 24th and Saturday 25th April – Avi Shashidhara
Avi is one of the most exciting voices in modern Indian cuisine in the UK today, blending his southern Indian heritage with classical European training. Previously working at Claude Bosi’s 2* Hibiscus, spending 10+ years at the renowned River Café and then being head chef at Pahli Hill Bandra Bhai, Avi will be serving up a 5 course Indian feast.
Avi also rose to fame in 2023 by winning Great British Menu for his stand-out starter dish.
8th and 9th May / 18th and 19th September – Freddie Southwell
Freddie is a regular at the Falconhurst supper clubs, with all of his evenings selling out and locals coming back year on year to enjoy his delicious food.
Inspired by his travels, Freddie focuses on Asian cuisine, and this year he will be producing a 7 course Asian-inspired tasting menu using local and seasonal goods from Falconhurst Estate and beyond.
16th, 17th and 18th October – Kitchen 94
Kitchen 94 will be returning for its third year at Falconhurst. Known for putting on a show with its outdoor kitchen equipment and cooking over live fire, Kitchen94 crafts fresh, seasonal menus with bold flavours.
Following two sold out years in a row, Kitchen 94 loves an interesting flavour combination and have a keen interest in fermenting and pickling foods, whilst focusing their dishes on seasonality, low waste and responsible sourcing.
Friday and Saturday evenings will see Kitchen 94 cook up a multi-course feast, whilst the Sunday offering will be their take on a classic roast – perfect to welcome in the winter months.
23rd and 24th October – James Brun
Also becoming a firm favourite amongst the Falconhurst crowd, James Brun is returning for his 4th year in a row, following three sold out weekends in the years preceding.
This year, James will be drawing on his experience at esteemed restaurants Kricket and Fenn and his recent travels around Rajasthan in India and Japan to create a delicious blend of Asian flavours.
Food pop ups
For a more casual offering, The Barn at Falconhurst will also see a series of food pop ups on the first weekend of every month. Running from 12pm – 8:30pm, it’s a great activity for families and friends alike to grab some food, have a drink and walk around the beautiful gardens on site.
With the food stands situated by the entrance of The Barn, the bar inside will be open and flowing for guests to grab a beer from the newly installed beer on tap with the local Lakedown Brewery on offer. Alternatively, The Barn boasts a stellar wine offering and has delicious soft drinks on offer.
Guests are welcome to enjoy their food and drinks in The Barn, or the tables outside and around the pond are perfect to enjoy these al fresco.
