The Molotovs Spearhead Campaign to Save Historic London Venue, Bush Hall

The Molotovs, an electrifying teen sibling band rapidly gaining traction in London’s vibrant guitar scene, have announced their fervent support for saving one of the city’s iconic music venues, Bush Hall. Known for their dynamic performances and infectious energy on stage, The Molotovs have captured the attention of audiences far and wide, sharing stages with legends such as Blondie and The Libertines.
In a bid to rally their dedicated fanbase and music enthusiasts alike, The Molotovs have organised a headline concert, “Save Bush Hall,” scheduled for this Saturday, 30th March. All proceeds from the event will be dedicated to preserving the historic Bush Hall, a venue that has played an integral role in shaping the city’s musical landscape. Tickets are available from £5 but you can donate more here. There are no age restrictions , everyone is welcome.
Running a Grassroots venue in the UK right now is harder than ever. Grassroots Music Venues are currently closing at a rate of two per week (MVT 2023 annual report), with only 0.5% profits across the sector and 38% of remaining venues reporting a loss of earnings. Despite tireless efforts, Bush Hall is now in danger of being next. All donations will go towards Saving live music at Bush Hall – allowing the venue to continue to programme and support emerging artists and to help us build a more sustainable future as a Grassroots Music Venue.
Discovered by none other than Green Day’s lead singer, Billie Joe Armstrong, The Molotovs received a significant endorsement when they were called up during a Green Day show.
Issey and Matthew Cartlidge , the driving forces behind The Molotovs, expressed their deep connection to Bush Hall and emphasised its importance within the music community. “Music venues like Bush Hall are the absolute lifeblood of our industry, and of our band as a whole,” they shared. “Last year we played over 150 gigs across the country and have built our entire audience through playing live. We even got to support Blondie after their drummer saw us in a tiny venue in London!
Venues build a sense of community, create a safe space for young people to get out the house and experience music in person rather than just see it on social media. Losing Bush Hall would be a dark day for the London music scene; we can’t let that happen without a fight.”
The Molotovs’ unwavering commitment to preserving Bush Hall underscores the critical role that grassroots efforts play in safeguarding cultural landmarks and nurturing emerging talent. Their dedication serves as a rallying cry for music lovers everywhere to join the cause and ensure that Bush Hall continues to thrive for generations to come. The band is urging fans of all ages to show their support to the venue.
