Earlier this year The Online Songwriters Circle (formerly The Roundhouse Songwriters Circle pre Covid)the brainchild of Nashville based hitmaker and ex BMI VP Jeff Cohen and the London-born singer-songwriter Riva Taylor. It welcomed hit songwriters from around the globe to participate in its series of digital showcases to raise money for some of our most loved performance venues including The Bluebird Cafe, Nashville and The Roundhouse, London. Focussed on telling the stories behind some of the songs we’ve grown to love these shows have included talents such as Jamie Hartman (rag n bone man’s chart-topping ‘Human ‘) Kevin Kadish (Meghan Trainor- ‘All About That Base’) and Sacha Skarbek (Miley Cyrus – ‘Wrecking Ball’) to name a few.

Now, a selection of industry veterans including Simon Greenaway (VP President, ASCAP), Jeff Cohen (Nashville based, Grammy nominated songwriter and publisher) and Rachel Mason (renowned international songwriting contest judge) will select a winner for the Strive Award, judging the best of unsigned songwriting talent. The winner will appear at the next live Songwriters’ circle show as well as having their song produced professionally.
