New Freedom of Information research has named the councils in England which received the most housing-related complaints from residents.
The research comes from Alan Boswell Group, landlord insurance experts, who submitted a FOI to discover which councils receive the most complaints and which complaints are the most common.
According to the report, the London Borough of Hackney received the most complaints at 5,982, with repairs (1,762) being the biggest concern from residents to their council, followed by response times and lack of action from the council (1,614).
Another London Borough follows in second place, as Lambeth is the council in England that received the second-highest number of complaints at 4,044. Repairs were again the biggest issue that caused the highest number of complaints at 1,641 and allocations/lettings followed with 1,080 complaints.
Sheffield City Council ranks third and is the council outside of London with the highest number of complaints with 3,019 total complaints. Sheffield’s most complained about factor is repairs with a total of 1,120 complaints solely about repairs and lack thereof.
