WEST LONDON LOCALS INVITED TO FREE SPRING WORKSHOPS WITH GARDEN INFLUENCER CARA THOMPSON

Residents from Ealing, Brent and neighbouring communities are invited to join SNG at its new Park Royal development, The Restorey, for a community spring planting event on Saturday 16 May.

Taking place in the development’s communal gardens between 10am and 3pm, the event will celebrate the change of seasons with a series of hands-on balcony planting workshops led by gardening influencer Cara Thompson (AKA @makeitflourish). Guests can sign up for one of three sessions, where they will create their own balcony planter box to take home, using seasonal flowers and seeds designed to flourish throughout spring. Spaces for the workshops are limited and must be booked in advance via: https://shorturl.at/9tA2X

In addition to these unmissable workshops, guests will be able to book an appointment to view the stunning Shared Ownership properties available to buy at The Restorey, and speak with a financial advisor on their eligibility for the government-backed scheme. A selection of dressed balconies will also be on display, offering inspiration for those looking to enhance their own outdoor spaces ahead of summer. Refreshments will be available for those with a valid ticket.

Kalumba Musambachime, Head of Sales London and East at SNG, comments: “We’re excited to welcome the local community to The Restorey this May. Whether you’re new to gardening or already enjoy growing your own plants, these workshops are a great way to get inspired and make the most of your outdoor space. With expert guidance from Cara Thompson, guests will be able to create something practical and beautiful to take home. We’ll also be offering tours of our show homes for anyone interested in learning more about the development.”

Cara Thompson is the founder of Make It Flourish, a community-focused initiative centred on creativity and the joy of growing flowers. A former TV art director with credits including EastEnders, she discovered a passion for flower growing during the national lockdown, which has since grown into a nationwide movement. Cara now leads popular sow-alongs and community meet-ups, supported by partners including Fothergills Seeds and SylvaGrow compost. She is a strong advocate for community growing and was awarded a Gold medal at last year’s BBC Gardeners’ World Autumn Show.

Available with Shared Ownership, the one and two bedroom apartments at The Restorey have been crafted to optimise contemporary lifestyles. Each apartment enjoys flowing interiors, with each enjoying private outdoor space in the form of a balcony or terrace. Providing further space for residents to enjoy, the homes at The Restorey are positioned around three sides of a tranquil and landscaped, central space. The final edge hosts the beautifully restored Refectory, a structure with local historical importance, that will play host to a dedicated workspace available for the local community to rent. Prices for a one bedroom apartment start from £80,000 for a 25% share.
