Westfield’s Coppermaker Square completes: 193 new homes & residents’ cinema
Stratford’s Coppermaker Square has unveiled the final phase of its landmark rental community, opening 193 stylish new apartments across the Sandhu and Aarons buildings and debuting an exclusive residents-only cinema and private courtyard. This milestone marks the culmination of a transformative three-year journey for Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield’s (URW) first residential scheme in the UK.
The final phase boasts 20 apartment layouts, all with private balconies, delivering one- to four-bedroom homes with generous floorplans and Samsung integrated appliances. Residents can also enjoy cutting-edge amenities including a 25-metre swimming pool, spa, gym and fitness studios as well as co-working spaces complete with free coffee, resident lounge and private dining space. Landscaped green spaces including a roof garden, open-air terrace and square at the centre of the development, all providing a rare sense of calm in the heart of the city.
Amidst an 8.3% rise in rental prices across Newham over the past year, Coppermaker Square has reinforced its standing as one of the area’s most sought-after addresses. Its completion comes as Stratford reinforces its reputation as a cultural hub with major openings including V&A East Storehouse and Sadler’s Wells East on the doorstep. At the heart of this dynamic regeneration zone, Coppermaker Square has become synonymous with convenience, connection and community for approximately 1,600 residents.
A standout addition to the final phase is an opulent cinema featuring a cinema-grade screen, surround sound, built-in bar and eight reclining leather chairs, bringing the big-screen experience home for weekend film viewings or live sports.

Adding to its creative credentials, Sandhu’s stylish new show apartment has been styled by local emerging interior designer Ricky Simpson, while a second celebrates Westfield’s retail heritage in partnership with West Elm and Lick, showcasing sleek furnishings and finishes. In the Aarons building, a future-facing show home brings together Hisense and award-winning design duo 2LG to combine innovative technology with the bold and playful style that 2LG are known for.

September also marks the second phase of Coppermaker Square’s partnership with the University of East London (UEL), this time to create three additional show apartments. Designed in collaboration with students from UEL’s Fashion Marketing and Interior Design courses, these will be unveiled in December, offering young creatives hands-on experience and the chance to shape part of the Coppermaker Square story.
Meeting modern renters’ needs, TULU smart machines provide residents with on-demand access to quality household items and appliances. Coppermaker Square also continues to welcome pets in style – building on last year’s launch of a dedicated on-site pet wash with the new addition of a Muddy Barkers vending machine, stocked with sustainable pet treats and essentials.
Jacinta Rowsell, Managing Director, Customer & Retail Operations, Northern Europe at URW, said, “Bringing Coppermaker Square to life has been an extraordinary journey. Our aim was always to create more than apartments – a true community where people feel at home. At the heart of our evolution has been our ongoing partnership with residents and we’re proud to have built a place where convenience, connection, and creativity come together. With Sandhu and Aarons now complete, the Coppermaker Square vision is fully realised, and we’re proud to see both our residents and Stratford thriving.”
The Sandhu and Aarons buildings offer a combined 193 new apartments for rent, featuring a mix of one, two, three and four-bedroom homes. Together, they form part of Stratford’s remarkable evolution into one of London’s most dynamic destinations for living, working, and socialising. Homes at Coppermaker Square start from £2,350 per month.
