New research shows our favourite things about Christmas plus the chance to ‘Win Your Dream Christmas’

40% of people say their favourite thing about Christmas is the festive atmosphere, according to research by local gift card champions Town & City Gift Cards as they launch their Win Your Dream Christmas competition in London. A £1,000 local gift card is the prize, giving one lucky winner the chance to enjoy all of their favourite things this Christmas.

For 33%, it’s the festive activities and events that make their Christmas. 15% of people said their favourite thing is the presents and for 12%, it’s the Christmas food and drink. But there’s also worry about how to pay for Christmas too with 72% of people saying the cost of living crisis is a concern for them.

Support for local was also strong with 98% of people saying they’re keen to support local businesses this Christmas and 87% saying they support local businesses to help keep them open. 89% plan to buy at least one gift card this Christmas.

The research was conducted by Town & City Gift Cards with over 1,000 people in August 2023. Town & City Gift Cards are local gift cards that can be spent with shops, restaurants, attractions, hotels, salons and more in a particular town or city, giving people an easy way to support local.

To enter the Win Your Dream Christmas competition, people need to answer the question ‘What Is Your Dream Christmas’ for a chance to win a £1,000 Town & City Gift Card of their choice. The cards are active across the London area, plus the South East, South West and the rest of the UK.
