World’s First Hearing Wellness Festival arrives in London

Kicking off on World Hearing Day is the first ever Mumbli Hearing Wellness Festival.

By 2050, 1.5bn people will have some degree of hearing reduction as a result of recreational noise pollution; the 2nd largest environmental contributor to health problems, behind toxic air pollution. It’s time to embrace Hearing Wellness as important a part of wellbeing as physical, mind and soul.

The intimate 4 day festival is hosted by Smart Hearing Wellness Platform Mumbli, pioneering change and addressing recreational noise pollution in public social spaces. Through its innovative tech ecosystem, Mumbli is enabling venues to operate at healthy noise levels, whilst still retaining that all important energy and buzz we love about going out.

Multi sensory award winning chef, Jozef Youssef of Kitchen Theory, and gastro physicist, Charles Spence have created an interactive sound and taste paired bento box experience. The immersive workshop will explore the importance of sound in relation to our sensory connection with food and dining. Perfect for foodies who love a side helping of ‘gastro physics’, Professor Spence will guide guests as they taste various edible samples and shed light on how our sense of hearing can augment, enhance or change our perceptions of flavour through the sound. They will also host a chef’s table multisensory dining experience that will feature 8 immersive courses, each proving that our ability to hear and the impact of noise levels doesnt just influence the environment around us, but the sensory experience of food or drink itself!

Elsewhere across London, restorative sound baths and secret gigs curated by global movement, Sofar Sounds will be taking place in acoustically optimised spaces for incredible audio accessible experiences. Over at The Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the pilot for the first Hearing Wellness District will be unveiled, and open with a panel talk with auditory experts and hearing psychologists addressing inclusive innovation and the future of smart cities where hearing wellness could be integrated into their design, for the benefit of all.
