Kind-hearted children at Ivybridge Primary School are making it a Christmas to remember for local retirees at Beck House.

Pupils in Year One Mars class have lovingly created hand-made Christmas cards for the homeowners at the McCarthy Stone retirement community on Twickenham Road in Isleworth, even adding a special note for each resident to cherish.

The festive initiative, organised by McCarthy Stone, was arranged to keep the community spirit alive and make sure that Christmas truly is the most wonderful time of the year for Beck House residents.
The retirees will also enjoy a programme of Christmas themed nights, live entertainment and games all throughout December.

Jo Hilton, Deputy Head Teacher at Ivybridge Primary School, said: “Our children in Year 1 loved making the Christmas Cards for the residents of Beck House. At Ivybridge Primary School, we want make a positive contribution to the local community and this in turn supports some of our school values of respect and responsibility teach we teach the children.”

Sandra Viera, House Manager at Beck House, added: “The homeowners were delighted to receive the hand-made Christmas cards from the children at Ivybridge Primary, and the handwritten notes were such a touching surprise. Community is what Christmas is all about and I’m sure the kindness of the children will make this an extra special and memorable year for the residents.

“The card delivery was a wonderful way to start festivities here at Beck House, and there is a real buzz amongst the homeowners as we continue our Christmas celebrations. It just goes to show that the spirit of Christmas can work its magic on all of us, young or old!”
