THE KINGFISHER DRONE CATCH WORLD CUP COMES TO ENGLAND - London TV

THE KINGFISHER DRONE CATCH WORLD CUP COMES TO ENGLAND

There’s no doubt that 2019 will be one of the most exciting summers for British cricket ever.  And now it has just got a little bit more exciting with the launch of the Kingfisher Drone Catch World Cup.  Kingfisher are looking to recruit 10 passionate cricket fans to try and break the world record for catching a cricket ball from a drone.  The current record stands at 80m and was set by top Australian wicket keeper Alyssa Healy, roughly the height of a twenty storey building.

All participants will receive a case of Kingfisher Beer, as well as a personalised cricket shirt.  And the winner will get a day at the Gray-Nicolls factory in East Sussex, where they will have a bespoke bat hand-crafted for them by the experts who make them for many of the world’s top players, including Alistair Cook.  A truly money-can’t-buy prize!

Kingfisher are really excited to announce that an official adjudicator from Guinness World Records will be attending the Drone Catch to verify the record.

“This event is an incredible chance for one lucky fan to live every sports fans childhood dream of being entered into the record books whilst representing their country.” Sam Catford, Brand Manager for Kingfisher.

If this wasn’t exciting enough, the event will be held at “one of the most beautiful grounds in England”, Wormsley Cricket Ground.  It was built by Sir Paul Getty on his estate after he fell in love with the game. This famous ground hosted its opening match in September 1992 which was captained by the Cricketing legends Imran Khan and Bob Wyatt. The match also played host to the honoured guests, then Prime Minister, John Major and Her Majesty the Queen Mother.

To enter, applicants will be required to send an email to dronecatch@kingfisherbeer.co.uk and explain in 50 words or less why they should be chosen to take part in this incredible event and which country they wish to represent.

The Kingfisher Drone Catch World Cup will take place on Monday 8th July at the Wormsley Cricket Ground, Wormsley Estate Office, Stokenchurch, High Wycombe HP14 3YE.
