On 26 February, Equans and Rochdale Boroughwide Housing (RBH) celebrated a major milestone in their three-year scheme to install new kitchens and bathrooms in 650 homes.
500 of RBH’s homes have now benefited from a mixture of kitchen and bathroom replacements, creating more comfortable and sociable spaces for residents to cook, eat and spend quality time with their friends and families.
Brenda , who lives at the 500th property to have these improvements installed, met with representatives from Equans and RBH to celebrate. Speaking of the impact on their home, Brenda said ” I’m very happy with it, I just love it – I chose the layout, the cupboards the flooring and the worktops which I love. They even replaced the handles on our existing built-in larder cupboards to match the new ones. I love the way it’s finished and I’m so glad they got us involved with the layout and finishings as well. If I knew someone who had been offered a new kitchen … I’d advise them to go ahead and let them come and do it because you are going to get a result you like – we’ve got a really great result on everything.”
Siobhan McCoy, Director of Property Services at RBH, said: “Our number one priority is making sure that our homes are safe, warm, and welcoming – places that our customers want to live in and feel proud to call home. Last year we invested £27 million in our existing homes, and we’re pleased that our partnership with Equans is delivering improvements for customers like Brenda.”
Andy Simcock, Head of Refurbishment and Sustainability Operations at Equans said “We’re proud to have delivered our 500th home improvement with RBH. Through this scheme we are helping create homes that really work in the way residents need; transforming how people cook, relax and connect. We consistently hear great things from residents when they see their new rooms coming to life and we are excited to continue delivering this scheme and impacting even more families across Rochdale.”
Now in its final year, there are around 150 homes still to benefit from this round of improvements.
