This summer, The Bloomsbury Club Bar invites you to enjoy Italian aperitivo hour in central London. From 5pm to 9pm, Tuesday to Thursday, you can sip cocktails and spritzes, share generous plates, and listen to live music on the terrace. Spritzes and signature cocktails start at £13. For £18, you can try the full Aperitivo experience, which includes a cocktail and a platter of Italian charcuterie, gherkins, focaccia, and pan con tomate.
Bar Manager Antonio Paperiello leads the team and was recently named a World Aperitivo Ambassador at the Aperitivo Festival 2026 in Milan. This award, given by the Italian Trade & Investment Agency, celebrates those who promote Italian aperitivo culture in their cities. Antonio brings this expertise and a touch of Milanese spirit to The Bloomsbury Club Bar, making it the perfect place to relax between work and dinner and enjoy the Italian tradition of slowing down.
There are three signature aperitivo cocktails to try. The Prima Sera, which means “early evening,” mixes Rinomato Bitter Scuro, Mancino Vermouth Amaranto, Akashi Tai Umeshu, an Italian amaro blend, and pink grapefruit soda. The classic Garibaldi combines Campari and fresh orange juice. The Sottosole, or “under the sun,” blends Tanqueray Gin, Mancino Vermouth Amaranto, lavender bitters, Campari, and lemon foam.
You can also choose from a selection of Italian spritzes, perfect for warm evenings. Options include Aperol, Campari, Hugo, Beesou, or Pomelle Spritz. Each is made by a World Aperitivo Ambassador and costs £13.
From July, Aperitivo Hour will feature live music, adding to the atmosphere on warm evenings. It’s a great setting for after-work drinks, summer date nights, or a relaxed catch-up with friends.
Set beneath The Bloomsbury Hotel, the secluded terrace feels a world away from the bustle of nearby Tottenham Court Road. Trailing greenery and weaving branches frame cushioned banquettes, whilst lanterns, candlelight and hundreds of glimmering fairy lights give the space the atmosphere of a secret garden after dark.
