Fragrance company on course to hit £4m turnover in its first year after successful six months

Online fragrance company Noted.Aromas is on course to deliver turnover of £4m in its first year after a successful six months since its launch.

The designer dupe perfume business has grown significantly since its launch last summer and its products have received glowing reviews from customers.

The firm, which is run by brothers Thomas and James Gibson, has a whole host of fragrances inspired by popular designer perfumes – from Baccarat Rouge, worn by Molly Mae Hague, to Santal 33, worn by Justin Bieber.

Thomas, who comes from Durham, said: “For us, the main motivation behind the brand was creating fragrances that smelt as close – if not the same – as the more expensive counterparts but costing a fraction of the price and still providing customers with that feeling of luxury but affordable luxury, so that it’s accessible to all.

“The first six months have gone very, very well and we are seeing a lot of customers coming back to buy more.

“Just passing 100 orders a day and getting the validation that there was a demand for our products are probably our biggest achievements to date.

“Our biggest challenges have been getting the perfumes to smell as close as possible to the originals. It takes a lot of time to get them right, so whilst we would have liked to expand our line, we don’t want to rush this.

“Some of our best-selling products have been the Baccarat Rouge and Creed Aventus Inspired perfumes. We call ours Monte Carlo and Rome.”

Looking ahead, Thomas said the company is looking to add to its current team of 13 and invest in expanding its production area.

“We are always looking to grow our marketing team with the right individuals,” he said.

“As the business continues to grow, more pickers/packers and production staff will be needed to keep up with the orders.

“For investment we are looking at expanding our production area so we can manufacture more than one perfume at a time. As well as this a new filling machine has just been added.”

The brothers launched Noted.Aromas after spending more than a year rigorously testing and developing the products to ensure they were of the highest quality and that they were products they could be proud of.

“Customers are loving their fragrances and are enjoying the fact that they’re paying a fraction of the price for their favourite scents. That’s really pleasing for us,” Thomas added.

“We never wanted to be a company that was here one minute, gone the next – so having that loyal customer base will ensure longevity of the business.

“It’s still very early days for us, so we’re trying not to get too ahead of ourselves particularly as we’re already growing much faster than we ever could have anticipated.”
