London Designer Outlet Leads the Charge Against Black Friday Burnout with a Week of Mindful Retail Therapy

London Designer Outlet (LDO), London’s leading outlet shopping destination, is once again redefining the Black Friday experience with the return of its innovative Rest Services.

Following the success of last year’s debut, Rest Services will take over LDO’s Guest Services area for an entire week – from Monday 24th to
Sunday 30th November 2025 – transforming it into a multi-sensory wellness hub that helps guests slow down, reset and shop more mindfully.

With one in three Britons expected to shop Black Friday sales¹, the serene space offers a calming retreat from the seasonal hustle; part of LDO’s wider ambition to become the UK’s most mentally fit shopping destination.

This year’s highlights include free sound bath sessions, a calming playlist curated by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, complimentary wellbeing teas from Holland & Barrett, as well as treats to enjoy from Las Iguanas and Frankie & Benny’s – all designed to reduce festive stress and enhance the joy of the season. The full schedule will be available on the LDO website and LDO’s social channels.

Behavioural psychologist Jo Hemmings explains why taking a moment matters: “When our ‘happy hormones’ – serotonin, dopamine and endorphins – are in balance, we’re more likely to make thoughtful, satisfying purchases. From stress-driven impulse buys to confident splurges, emotions often guide our shopping choices more than we realise. The best decisions happen when we’re calm, focused, and feeling good.”

Michelle D’Vaz Plant, Head of Marketing at LDO, said: “Rest Services is about taking care of our guests and our team. After last year’s success, we wanted to extend the experience so everyone can enjoy a moment of calm – whether they visit for a sound bath or stop by for mindful relaxation between shops. At LDO, we’re proud to combine great savings with great experiences, and Rest Services captures that spirit perfectly.”

Because even the most seasoned shoppers can feel the rush on Black Friday, Debbie Gray, Retail Development Manager at LDO, has shared her go-to tips for staying cool, collected and bagging the best buys at London Designer Outlet: “Shopping, especially during peak times like Black Friday, can be highly stimulating – it’s easy to get overwhelmed or experience decision fatigue. We want visitors to know there’s a better, more mindful way to shop.”

How can I prepare to get the best deals?
“Have an idea what you’re looking for so you can head straight to your chosen stores. Some of the best offers include a spend threshold, so if your purchase won’t quite reach it, team up with a friend who’s also buying.”
When is the best time to shop?
“We’re open 9am–9pm on both Black Friday and Black Saturday. For a quieter experience, visit early – around 10–11am or later in the evening between 7–8pm.”
When does new stock land at LDO?
“Each brand, from Calvin Klein to Converse, has its own delivery rhythm, but Tuesday and Saturday are the heaviest drop days – perfect for finding new arrivals across fashion, homeware, and beauty.”
Am I just buying old stock?
“No. Outlets aren’t just filled with last season’s leftovers. You’ll find a mix of previous-season items, overstock from current lines, and exclusive ‘made for outlet’ collections.”
As a family, what else is there to do at LDO?
“Make a day of it! From family-friendly restaurants to a nine-screen Cineworld with 4DX and autism-friendly showings, there’s plenty to enjoy beyond shopping.”

While you’re here, grab a quick bite or a refreshing bubble tea from Arena Walk, or sit back and enjoy a meal at one of the many restaurants and bars on the Restaurant Terrace, including Nando’s, Pizza Express, Wagamama, Zizzi, TGI Fridays, and more!

Rest Services will be open to all visitors in the heart of LDO’s Guest Services area from Monday 24th to Sunday 30th November 2025. Visit www.LondonDesignerOutlet.com or LDO socials for the full schedule and more information about Rest Services
