London takeaway business grows revenue by 120% with franchise partnership offering India’s most-loved dish

A London food delivery business has increased its revenue by 120% since January 2022 thanks to a franchise partnership with India’s most loved biryani brand, Behrouz Biryani.
Real Rippers Ltd, which has four sites across London in Tower Bridge, Brent Cross, Camden, Norbury and Canary Wharf, decided to partner with Behrouz Biryani in December 2021 as a way to supplement its income and grow the business.

Behrouz Biryani is a key brand under Rebel Foods, which is the world’s largest internet restaurant company and one of India’s most significant foodtech players.
The international food brand operates in the UK using an innovative cloud kitchen model, which utilises commercial kitchens to build internet restaurant brands, or virtual brands, to deliver delicious meals to customers’ doorsteps.

Since taking on the franchise opportunity in December 2021, Real Rippers Ltd, which is owned by Atul Patel, has seen its profits massively increase, which has allowed the business to grow with new sites around London.

Atul Patel, franchisee for Behrouz Biryani, said: “I decided to open up my first site in Tower Bridge in 2018 because I felt there was a gap in the market. As well as the takeaway site, we also have a central kitchen in London where we helped to prepare products for Rebel Foods, so I knew the brand already.

“It was through this relationship that I learned about the franchise opportunity. I had no idea what a cloud kitchen was before, but when I found out more, it seemed like the perfect way to increase my revenue without investing in something high-risk.

“Across all five sites, we sell around 200 orders of Behrouz Biryani a day, which is only increasing as even more people search for tasty, authentic biryani in the UK. Not only are Behrouz meals delicious and a great addition to the menu, but the brand has made the franchise partnership so seamless, I couldn’t commend them more. ”

“If you have an existing kitchen or business, this is the ideal opportunity. The fact you can get started straight away and there are no time-consuming processes or heavy upfront costs is a huge bonus.”

Behrouz Biryani is already taking the UK by storm, with 40 internet restaurants currently served through a virtual brand partner model across major cities such as London, Manchester and Birmingham.

The business has an ambitious franchise model and is projected to have more than 60 kitchen partners in and around the UK by the end of the year. It operates through its own website, as well as through its partnered restaurants using Uber Eats, Just Eat and Deliveroo platforms.

Kaustubh Khare, country head for Rebel Foods UK, said: “Our cloud-kitchen model allows local food operators to maximise their kitchen’s potential and bring additional revenue at no extra costs while making profits from the very first day. We share our decade of expertise with our partners, focusing on quality training and promoting the brand through marketing support.

“The Rebel UK franchise model is unique because the brands can be operated without having to upskill kitchen staff further or without any capital investment. Every recipe is simple for kitchens to prepare and yet has been carefully perfected to ensure consumers receive an authentic, high-quality meal delivered to their homes or offices.

“Since launching in the UK, we’ve expanded quickly with 40 sites throughout London and other major cities, as our franchise opportunity is easy to scale up and quick to implement. Atul was one of our first partners and we’re happy to have shared in his growth. He is a great example of how you can see success quickly, without having to invest too much time or effort.”

The Behrouz Biryani menu currently offers a variety of chicken, mutton and vegetable biryani with some of its popular dishes including dum gosht mutton biryani and shandar chicken tikka biryani. The menu caters to multiple preferences including halal and also offers a selection of kebabs and naans available as sides.
