Signature at Highgate Spreads Easter Joy with Hospital Donation Initiative

Residents and team members at Signature at Highgate have brought Easter cheer to local children by donating a collection of Easter eggs to young patients at the Whittington Hospital and Barnet General Hospital.

Signature at Highgate is part of Signature Senior Lifestyle, an award-winning provider of luxury residential, nursing and dementia care.

The heartwarming initiative saw a generous number of Easter eggs collected through donations from residents, team members and their families. The eggs were delivered to children’s wards to brighten the holiday for those spending Easter in hospital, helping to bring comfort and joy during what can be a challenging time.

Team members at Signature at Highgate fully embraced the spirit of the occasion, dressing up as Easter bunnies as they handed over the treats. Their efforts created a fun and uplifting experience for young patients, as well as hospital staff, adding a sense of celebration to the wards.

The idea for the initiative came from the team at Signature at Highgate, who were keen to give back to their local community and lift spirits over the Easter period. Recognising how much children enjoy the occasion, the team worked together to organise the donation and ensure it would make a meaningful impact.

Residents played an active role throughout, supporting the collection of Easter eggs and helping to prepare the donations. They also joined the Easter bunnies on the day, travelling in a Signature Senior Lifestyle minibus to personally deliver the gifts to the hospitals. Their involvement reflects the strong community-focused ethos of the home and its commitment to making a positive difference beyond its walls.

The donation was warmly received by both hospitals, with staff expressing their gratitude for the thoughtful gesture, which helped bring smiles to children and their families during the Easter period.

Marian Alexandru, General Manager at Signature at Highgate, said:

“We are delighted to have been able to support our local hospitals this Easter. It was a wonderful opportunity for our residents and team members to come together and give back to the community, while spreading some seasonal joy to children who may be going through a difficult time.”

A young patient at Barnet General Hospital shared their excitement:

“It was such a lovely surprise to receive an Easter egg and it really brightened my day. The Easter bunnies were great fun and it made being in hospital over Easter feel a lot nicer. It helped make the day feel a bit more normal and special.”
