Southern Housing New Homes has launched the first Shared Ownership homes at Wickside, a new mixed-tenure development on a seven-acre former industrial site in Hackney Wick, east London.
The first release, at Bridge House, comprises 25 one- and two-bedroom apartments and marks the start of Southern Housing’s delivery of 188 Shared Ownership homes across the wider Wickside development.
Designed by Shoreditch-based architects Studio Shaw, Bridge House sits at a prominent canalside location and has been planned as a gateway to the wider masterplan.
Once complete, Wickside will deliver over 300 homes across multiple tenures with Southern Housing set to provide 188 Shared Ownership homes across the development.

The architecture reflects Hackney Wick’s industrial heritage while introducing a bold, contemporary identity, with a distinctive concrete façade and a strong focus on light, space and connection to the surrounding landscape. Residents will also benefit from private roof terraces with views towards Stratford, the City and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
Once complete, Wickside will deliver more than 300 homes across multiple tenures, alongside commercial space, public realm improvements and 40 artist studios. The development will also include purpose-built space for organisations including the London College of Architecture and a new pedestrian bridge linking Wickside with neighbouring Fish Island.
Hackney Wick is known for its independent food and drink scene, creative businesses and canalside setting, with Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park within walking distance.
The development is also well connected, with Hackney Wick station just minutes away, offering fast London Overground services to Stratford in three minutes, connecting to the Elizabeth, Central and Jubilee lines, as well as Highbury & Islington for the Victoria line and wider Overground network.
Prices for the Shared Ownership homes at Wickside start from £119,375 for a 25% share of a one-bedroom home, based on a full market value of £477,500.
