THE NBA IS TAKING OVER LONDON THIS WEEK – HERE’S ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW

The National Basketball Association (NBA) is set to take over London this week, with three days of fan events and a regular-season showdown at The O2 as part of The NBA London Game 2026 and here’s all you need to know about the event.

The headline event sees the Memphis Grizzlies face the Orlando Magic on Sunday, January 18, with tip-off scheduled for 5pm GMT at The O2.

It will be the league’s 10th regular-season game in London and the 19th NBA game played in the UK since 1993, underlining the city’s long-standing relationship with the sport.

However, the showpiece game featuring star players such as Ja Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr. from the Grizzlies and Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner, and Jalen Suggs from the Magic isn’t the only event fans can get involved with.

Away from the court, fans will be able to immerse themselves in the NBA experience at NBA House, a free, interactive fan event taking place at Magazine London from Friday January 16 to Sunday January 18.

Open daily from 12pm to 8pm, NBA House will give fans the chance to get on court, take part in basketball challenges, attend live panel sessions with NBA legends, shop limited-edition and customised merchandise, and pose for photos with the iconic Larry O’Brien Trophy.

The Orlando Magic will also bring their own activation to NBA House, offering an interactive photo experience where fans can recreate some of the league’s most famous dunks, with the chance to win Magic-branded prizes.

Entry to NBA House is free, with access available by creating an NBA ID at NBA.com/HouseLondon. Fans attending on Sunday will also be able to watch the London Game live on a big screen from 5pm GMT.

The NBA’s presence in the capital will extend beyond fan events too, with the league, Grizzlies and Magic hosting a week of basketball development programmes across London, expected to reach more than 5,000 young people aged 12–16. This includes Her Time to Play Panel & Clinic a national NBA and WNBA initiative, empowering girls through basketball, mentorship and leadership development. The programme combines on-court skill sessions with panel discussions led by former players and high-profile female role models.
