Shard Quarter, one of London’s most connected mixed-use districts, has completed the long-term letting of Unit 4, Joiner Street, to Konditor, the much-loved bakery. The opening marks Konditor’s return to the London Bridge area with its newest London shop, having previously been in nearby Borough Market.
The new lease supports Shard Quarter’s retail expansion, curating amenities for occupiers and visitors in a globally recognised location. Situated opposite The View from The Shard entrance and moments from London Bridge Station, the street-level shop offers exceptional footfall and high visibility.
Konditor will offer its handcrafted cakes, brownies and celebration bakes with click-and-collect and pre-order services for workplace and private events bringing a fresh, everyday convenience to the local community.
Along with a new site, the opening has also generated nine new job opportunities across production and retail. This paired with Konditor’s 10-year lease underscores the commitment and confidence in Shard Quarter’s retail offering and underpins the promise of many successful years to come.
Tom Rundell, Managing Director at Konditor, said: “This new store forms part of our long-term retail expansion strategy, focused on locations that are the perfect fit for our brand. We are delighted to be joining the Shard Quarter community.
The store will provide a convenient collection point for customers, while Shard Quarter offers retailers a rare combination of exceptional footfall, a globally recognised destination and a highly diverse customer base.”
Jonathan Strong, Director of Asset Management at Real Estate Management (UK), said: “The addition of Konditor brings another much loved brand to Shard Quarter. . Anchored by iconic landmarks and a thriving corporate hub, retailers in Shard Quarter gain direct access to a diverse customer base of commuters, tourists, office workers, and the nearby Guy’s Hospital community. We look forward to a long working relationship with the Konditor team.”
Shard Quarter continues to offer scalable retail opportunities, with units available from 45 sq ft kiosks to 2,280 sq ft. Brands seeking high-footfall central London locations can register interest via the Shard Quarter retail page.
