This Christmas, London will become home to a brand-new Winter experience as Neverland at Kenwood opens its gates for the very first time.
Running from 21 November to 3 January, the historic grounds of Kenwood House on Hampstead Heath will be transformed into a breathtaking immersive outdoor light trail inspired by JM Barrie’s timeless tale of Peter Pan – the UK’s first Neverland light trail.
For its debut year, Neverland at Kenwood invites visitors to follow Tinkerbell’s fairy dust path from the rooftops of London to the heart of Neverland — soaring through the Darling family home, past a glowing Big Ben, and into a wonderous world where magic and adventure capture the imagination.
From the Lost Boys’ secret hideout to the eerie glowing Skull Rock and Captain Hook’s iconic pirate ship, this all-new trail blends spectacular lighting, immersive storytelling and an atmospheric soundscape to bring Barrie’s beloved world vividly to life.
Today, new details have been revealed about the spectacular trail design. Guests will encounter 15 illuminated jellyfish floating in Mermaid’s Lagoon – some rising over 2 metres high – and a dramatic 4-metre skull presiding over Skull Rock. On Lost Boys’ Island, five towering Tipi Tents stand more than 3 metres tall, while a 6-metre-long crocodile lurks nearby. Twenty magical flying books drift overhead, Big Ben rises 6 metres into the night sky, and a life-size puppet of Nana the dog adds yet more wonder to the trail.
Transporting visitors to a land of magic, imagination and adventure, Neverland promises an unforgettable experience for all ages over the festive period.
Zoe Bottrell, Managing Director of Culture Creative who are the creative content producers of this new light trail said:
“Neverland is a truly magical tale of adventure and perfect for the outdoors. We are delighted to be working with GOSH Charity again, after successfully creating Neverland for the inside of Blenheim Palace last year. Our creative team excel at making great ideas happen, and this has been a dream project for them to work on, to bring this timeless story to life.”
Head of Partnership Development at GOSH Charity, Chris Carter, said:
“Neverland at Kenwood is set to be a magical experience, where people of all ages can immerse themselves in the wonderful world of Neverland this festive season. Author JM Barrie generously gifted the rights to his beloved story to Great Ormond Street Hospital in 1929, and every ticket bought will mean that Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity can continue to help give seriously ill children the best chance, and childhood, possible.”
Also newly revealed is the festive food and drink offering, delivered by Freemans Event Partners. Guests can tuck into Christmas classics with a twist, including a Christmas Roast pizza topped with turkey and a cranberry drizzle, or Santa’s Belly Buster hot dog, wrapped in bacon for a festive kick. The Festive Porker Yorkshire pudding wrap is packed with pulled pork and stuffing, while the Joyeux Noel burger layers melted cheese, crispy onions, and the ultimate festive topping: a pig in blanket. For the perfect side, Loaded Festive Roasties with cranberry sauce and crackling sprinkles bring even more cheer to the table. Warm up with a spiced drink or indulge in a rich hot chocolate as you wander through the sparkling light trail. There’s a festive treat for everyone.
With easy access from across London and surrounding home counties, Neverland at Kenwood is set to become one of the capital’s must-visit festive highlights. JM Barrie gifted the rights to Peter Pan to Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) in 1929 and Neverland at Kenwood are pleased to be supporting Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity (GOSH Charity) this Christmas. GOSH Charity exists to raise vital funds for seriously ill children at GOSH, with donations going towards cutting-edge medical equipment, groundbreaking research, vital support for patients and families and the rebuilding and refurbishment of hospital wards and buildings.
For every Neverland at Kenwood ticket, £1 is included in the price as a charitable contribution which Raymond Gubbay Ltd. will collect and give (+ VAT) to Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity (Registered charity no. 1160024).
