VK launches zero sugar drinks into UK bars, venues, and clubs this month

VK, the biggest ready-to-drink beverage brand in UK bars, venues, and clubs,2 and the No.1 ready-to-drink beverage for students eight years running,3 is launching a brand-new zero sugar range across the UK, this January.

The new range, VK & SODA, delivers on demand for zero sugar and lower calorie drinks,4 while retaining the flavourful and tasty essence of the iconic VK range, which includes favourites VK Blue, VK Strawberry & Lime, VK Orange & Passion Fruit, VK Tropical Fruits, VK Apple & Mango, VK Watermelon, VK Black Cherry, and VK Raspberry & Peach.

VK & SODA is a light and bubbly drink with two fruity flavours available – VK & SODA Berries, and VK & SODA Lime. The two varieties are based on the UK’s favourite drinks – ‘Blue’, the UK’s best-selling pre-mixed drink flavour,1 and the iconic bar serve vodka, lime, and soda. Each bottle of VK & SODA contains 56 calories, fewer than the iconic VK range, and zero sugar.

VK & SODA Berries is a mouth-watering mix of lush berry flavours on top of crisp vodka, that captures the classic taste of the iconic VK Blue, with no sugar, fewer calories and lots of party vibes.

VK & SODA Lime is the new and improved glow up of a night-out staple – the vodka, lime, and soda. A light and bubbly party starter, the VK & SODA Lime packs heaps of refreshing zesty lime flavour on top of crisp vodka.

The launch comes as CGA data reveals 84% of Gen Z consumers are looking for healthier options on menus when drinking out,5 and more consumers are generally looking for zero sugar and lower calorie drinks.4

Despite this, drinks industry data reveals that the go-to lower calorie beverage in the USA, hard seltzers, aren’t as popular in the UK, with sales falling flat6 – because UK customers opt for drinks with more flavour, and struggle to understand the concept of hard seltzers.7

With the new range of VK & SODA, the VK team prioritised delivering zesty, fun flavour and packing the party vibes of VK into a recyclable bottle – a truly tasty innovation – with added benefits of zero sugar and 56 calories per bottle. At 3.4% the SKUs are also lower in alcohol than a typical VK.

VK & SODA Berries and VK & SODA Lime are available in venues stocking VK, including NUS venues, across the UK.
