Westfield Partners with Isamaya Ffrench to Unveil ‘The Face Of 2050’

Westfield has joined forces with one of Britain’s most creative makeup artists,
Isamaya Ffrench, to show how beauty could look in the future with The Face of 2050.

The collaboration was inspired by a shared excitement for what’s next in makeup. With new products, technology,
and sustainable formulas, makeup has never been more fun, giving everyone the chance to experiment, play, and create looks that feel fresh and futuristic. The Face of 2050 brings tomorrow’s trends to life today, offering bold, colourful ways to express oneself
through beauty.

Known for her adventurous approach and collaborations with icons from Rihanna to Björk, Ffrench has imagined
futuristic skin, holographic colour and accents that transform brows, lips, and eyes while combating the effects of rising temperatures and sunlight levels as climate change continues to advance. The look is theatrical but wearable – a glimpse into the future
vanity table, created using products already available in-stores.

Isamaya Ffrench’s predictions for the future of beauty include:

Iridescent “mirror skin” to reflect a world reshaped by rising temperatures

The complexion is hyper-reflective and luminous, echoing a world reshaped by rising temperatures and intensified
sunlight. This mirror-skin finish acts as both aesthetic and armour: infused with heat-reflective pigments that deflect UV rays while giving the skin a multidimensional glow. The iridescence shifts subtly under different lighting – a nod to bioluminescent
life adapting to extreme environments, and to mood-responsive pigments that react to body temperature and emotion.

Absence of brows, reflecting the fluidity of identity in 2050 and post-digital self-expression

The removal of eyebrows speaks to the fluidity of identity in 2050. It creates a neutral, almost alien
blankness – a face that belongs everywhere and nowhere. It bridges the ancient and the futuristic, linking ritualistic transformation inspired by tribes who remove brows as rites of passage, mourning or purity, with post-digital self-expression.

Metallic eyes – inspired by digital avatars and tech-enhanced beauty

These molten tones reflect the metallic sheen of smart materials and tech-enhanced beauty, reminiscent
of holographic interfaces and virtual avatars. The interplay of warm metals (gold, copper) and cooler tones (silver, violet) mirrors the planet’s shifting climates and light conditions, refracting sunlight and as a result protect the eyelids from aging and
the eyes’ sensitivity to light – a literal armour.

Thick black lashes that filter pollution

The lashes are the anchor of the look: exaggerated, graphic, and the ultimate protection for the eyes.
They evoke the 2050 reality of smart beauty prosthetics, perhaps lashes that extend and retract to filter pollution, adapt to air quality and protect the eyes from sunlight and extreme environmental conditions. Their boldness adds structure to an otherwise
ethereal face, grounding the look.

Bio-responsive, mood-boosting sparkling glossy lips

Lips shimmer with a high-gloss, crystalline finish, suggestive of liquid glass. The look celebrates the
ultra-sensorial, mood-boosting power of touch and light. The gloss incorporates the “health” dimension of future beauty: formulations that don’t just decorate, but hydrate, soothe, and even elevate mood through bio-responsive ingredients. The sparkling surface
also ties into tech-enhanced, avatar-inspired aesthetics — think hyperreal lips that glisten like a 3D render, merging the physical and digital self, with shimmer that automatically matches the colour of the iridescence of the skin.
