Handel Hendrix House – the Mayfair museum once home to composer G.F. Handel and rock legend Jimi Hendrix, just minutes from Oxford Street – will be hosting the Hallelujah House Party: Classical DJ x Handel Hendrix House over three days in September (Friday 18, Saturday 19 and Sunday 20, 2026) to celebrate 25 years of the museum being open to the public. The party will also coincide with the launch of a new exhibition focussing on enterprising composer Handel’s use of his house for creativity, business and entertaining.
Hosted by Radio 3’s Georgia Mann, otherwise known as the Classical DJ, the curated music experience will fill all four floors of the museum – and both musician’s homes – with a specially selected playlist inspired by Handel and Hendrix. With evening events on Friday and Saturday, and a family-friendly session on Sunday afternoon, all events include entry to the museum and the DJ sets; refreshments will be available throughout.
Tickets for all events are now on sale at www.handelhendrix.org. and refreshments will be available in the museum during the sessions. Tickets are £30.00 per person, with children 12 and under free for the Sunday afternoon.
As Georgia Mann explains: “The Hallelujah House Party is the ultimate expression of the Classical DJ philosophy: musical worlds colliding while a very good time is being had! Handel and Hendrix were visionaries who wrote music of phenomenal energy and virtuosity. They both wowed the audiences of their eras: Handel at the keyboard, Hendrix with the guitar, and they both made music which came to define the times in which they lived. We cannot wait to explore the parallels between these two game changing artists in a DJ set which will fill the unique space at Handel Hendrix House, soundtracking a house party to celebrate the place which two of the greatest musical minds in history called home.”
Handel Hendrix House Senior Curator and Deputy Director Claire Davies said: “The walls of George and Jimi’s homes must have rung with music, and we know that they both enjoyed a good party with their friends. As our beautiful museum turns 25 years old, we’re thrilled that the Classical DJ will be helping us to party in style, with a fabulous house party in the home of baroque and roll.”
